For when something feels off.
Vestibular PT may help with a range of symptoms tied to the inner ear, vision, and balance.
Vertigo & spinning
A sudden sense that you or the room is moving — often triggered by rolling over in bed, looking up, or quick head turns.
Balance & falls
Feeling unsteady on your feet, drifting to one side, or fearing a fall — especially in the dark or on uneven ground.
Post-concussion
Lingering dizziness, brain fog, or visual sensitivity after a head injury that hasn't fully resolved on its own.
Motion sensitivity
Discomfort in busy visual environments, scrolling on screens, riding in cars, or walking through grocery aisles.
What vestibular therapy actually is.
Your sense of balance comes from a quiet conversation between your inner ear, your eyes, and your brain. When that conversation gets scrambled — by an inner-ear issue, a concussion, or simply age — the world can feel like it's moving when it isn't.
Vestibular physical therapy retrains those pathways through targeted, guided exercises. For some causes (like BPPV) a simple in-office maneuver can resolve symptoms quickly. For others, it's a progressive program that helps the brain re-learn to interpret motion, vision, and balance signals correctly.
In a typical visit
- BPPV repositioning (e.g. Epley)
- Gaze stabilization exercises
- Habituation training
- Balance & gait retraining

What people often notice.
Real-world improvements many patients report as their vestibular system retrains.
Less spinning with everyday movements
Many people notice rolling over in bed, looking up, or bending down stops triggering vertigo.
Steadier walking, more confidence
Stairs, uneven ground, and dim lighting often feel more manageable as balance retrains.
Less visual overwhelm
Busy stores, scrolling on screens, and crowded spaces can feel calmer over time.
Outcomes vary. Vestibular PT is not appropriate for every cause of dizziness — the free phone consultation helps determine fit.

What is vestibular physical therapy?+
Vestibular physical therapy is a specialized form of PT for dizziness, vertigo, balance problems, motion sensitivity, and related symptoms. It uses targeted exercises and, when appropriate, repositioning maneuvers to help the brain, eyes, and inner ear work together more reliably.
Can vestibular therapy help vertigo?+
Vestibular therapy may help many people with vertigo, especially when symptoms are connected to BPPV or vestibular system dysfunction. It is not appropriate for every cause of dizziness, so Knox Vestibular PT starts with a phone consultation to determine whether care may be a fit.
Do you treat BPPV?+
Yes. Knox Vestibular PT evaluates symptoms consistent with BPPV and may use canalith repositioning maneuvers such as the Epley maneuver when clinically appropriate.
Do you provide in-home visits?+
Yes. Knox Vestibular PT provides one-on-one vestibular physical therapy visits in the patient's home in Knoxville and nearby areas.
How much does treatment cost?+
Visits are cash-pay only and cost $300 per in-home visit. Evaluations and follow-ups use the same flat rate. A 10-minute phone consultation is available at no cost.
Do you accept insurance?+
Knox Vestibular PT does not bill insurance. Care is cash-pay only, with pricing confirmed before a visit is scheduled.
What areas around Knoxville do you serve?+
In-home visits within 15 miles of downtown Knoxville are included at the standard rate. Visits beyond that area may be available with an added $2 per mile for miles past the included radius.
How do I know if vestibular therapy is right for me?+
Start with the consultation request form. Knox Vestibular PT will reach out for a brief call to discuss symptoms, red flags, service area, and whether an in-home vestibular PT evaluation may be appropriate.
